Finding a Christian Counselor in San Diego, CA

Finding a Christian Counselor in San Diego, California

There are many reasons San Diego is known as America’s Finest City. The weather, beaches, zoo, and many diverse neighborhoods just to name a few. Despite the beauty and various experiences San Diego has to offer, sometimes struggles occur and you may need some assistance navigating life. If you are looking for a Christian counselor, I would like to aid you in finding someone who is the best fit to help you.

I want to help you find a therapist in San Diego, California

San Diego is loaded with qualified Christian counselors, so how do you find the one who is suitable for you?

1.  Pray. Ask God to lead you to the therapist who is best equipped to help you with your problems. One of my favorite go-to verses when seeking guidance from the Lord is Isaiah 30:21, And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” Don’t start the search without Holy Spirit leading and directing you.

2.  Word of Mouth. The best referrals come from someone you trust. A friend called me last night looking for a therapist for a relative. I gave her the name of a counselor who specialized in the area the relative needed. My friend sighed in relief. “I can give her this name because I trust you!” Ask your family and friends, they may know the name of the counselor you need. Better yet, check with your Pastor. If he doesn’t know anyone, he has the resources to find someone who does.

3. Internet. Do a Google search for “Christian Therapist in San Diego” or “Christian Counselor in San Diego.” If that is overwhelming, try Focus on the Family https://www.focusonthefamily.com/get-help/counseling-services-and-referrals/. One more option is Psychology Today, https://www.psychologytoday.com/us.
