As a San Diego Christian Marriage and Family Therapist, Donna Scott, owner of Donna Scott Therapy, offers the benefit of her professional experience and training combined with compassion and insight from God’s Word. She has over 25 years of experience providing individual, couples, family and play therapy in a variety of settings. The focus of Donna’s work is to help those with hurting hearts heal from relationship wounds. Her goal is to empower, educate, enlighten and equip them. She can assist you and your partner in overcoming your difficulties and evolve both as lovers and friends. Through counseling she can facilitate healing, improved communication, increase connection and understanding. Donna is also an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University and at Bethel Seminary in the Marriage and Family program in San Diego, California. In addition, she is a popular and inspirational speaker at seminars, workshops and retreats on the subject of strengthening one’s relationship with God and with one another. Her desire is to live a life “worthy of the calling” she has received. Donna praises God for 28 years of marriage where she has been given the opportunity to practice what she teaches. They are blessed with four children.
Donna earned a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Psychology from Biola University and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from United States International University. She has also trained with many leaders of the field including The Couples Institute and now Emotionally Focused Therapy. She is certified in pre-marital and marriage counseling through PREPARE/ ENRICH. Donna is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and Black African American Christian Counselors.
